Torch Of Freedom Feat. Joy Denalane (Frost & Wagner Remixe)

by [re:jazz]

Yet another great remix from the very successful [re:jazz] project featuring the very popular Afro-German singer "Joy Denalane" . The Remix treatment was inspired by Daniel W. Best from Best Seven/Sonar Kollektiv, while sitting around in a studio listening to the [re:jazz] album, somewhere in Berlin with Oliver Frost & Adrian Wagner. Oliver used to play in a reggae group with Joy Denalane years ago. They immediately called Infracom with the idea of a reggae re-interpretation. As Cleveland Watkiss, who is the original composer of this song has strong reggae roots in his family, this just sounded like a perfect idea. The result is two amazing mixes! One version more dancehall style with amazing trombone playing and the flipside with a chilled out street mix . The mix already received airplays by Gilles Peterson's World-wide, on the Compost Radio Show and on several British Airways flights.
