The name Hacienda is a bit of a play on words that refers to the back-ground of Jürgen Kadel and Marcus Finger. They grew up in the outskirts of Frankfurt and were therefore able to observe the hectic activity of the metropolis with a relaxed composure.

It is an appropriate name for their music project. They take things as they come. However, melancholic is far from a fitting description of Hacienda's sound, They view their music as a successful fusion of electronic and acoustic style elements. Accordingly, their influences are wide and varied and span from Tortoise and Deodato to Solid Doctor, all the way to Air Liquide.

Hacienda celebrates its own definition of future club music in which the Wurlitzer, Rhodes piano, rolling Hammond organs, and Fender jazz bass receive equal treatment along with synthesizers and drum machines.

Hacienda's debut album, "Sunday Afternoons," on Harthouse impressed a considerable number of people. lt received favorable reviews in Germany as well as in the UK and across the big pond in the United States. Then, in mid 1997 the career of this rising band encountered a surprising setback, Their label, Harthouse, filed for bankruptcy and they were suddenly forced to go hunting for a new recording outlet. They found a new home with INFRACom! at the beginning of '1998.

Their newly released album, "Narrowed Eyes," is supported by the release of the 12" package "Flanell Sunset," a cool uptempo track with 7O´s sound- track appeal that features a remix from A Forest Mighty Black.

Other notable tracks include "Dust Heroes," a duel between two dust coated western characters, and "Lazy' Mason fills my Bong," a 70 bpm monster that captivates with it´s relaxed guitar lines. "Akkustikkopler" is the most electronic track on the disc, and "At Moe's Tavern" provides a preview of what the album will sound like when played live.
