"Third Door Left", the new album of Hacienda is an artistic account of the past two years. The music of Jürgen Kadel and Markus Finger hasn't sounded more familiar before. Being categorised as a TripHop, Downtempo or Electro Band during the period of the first two albums, the situation is now much more difficult. If you ask Hacienda about their own style, you'd probably hear something like : "Take a little bit of Bossa, Dub, Latin, Acid Jazz, Salsa, Brasil and may be some Funk elements, then add the specific Hacienda Flava and you got our style. Hacienda Style!

Everybody who had the chance listening to the first two albums "Sunday Afternoon" and "Narrowed Eyes", will now see a logical further development in their music in this direction. Jürgen : "Third door left" is not the product of a "Nu-Jazz" hype, we don't even care. We're just making the music we love listening to and that's our style. Hacienda Style. It's just that simple, you know!"

What makes the album so pleasant is the fact that every song has its own story to tell. "North" sounds like a spacemovie from the 70's, "Blind" sounds a little bit like sadness and guitars. "Unfinished & Undone" is a Spoken Word joint, with the help of MC Ronin from Megashira/Precison crew. The song "Sabor" wich will be the second single aswell contains a fine portion of bossa and the first single "Nightflight" take you back to the disco-years, when disco was a place to be.

For the second time Hacienda invited different musicians for severel jam sessions in their studio to record all instruments live and direct to create a new mood and get inspired. They also asked Irini Anna Koderisch, a young and so far unknown but very talented female vocalist to join them on songs such as "Sabor", "Blue Smile" and "Me da um favour". She's got the talent to add a new athmosphere to the songs and the whole album sounds much more to the point because of her. She's also gonna to be a part of the tour team and will elicit some tears with her fantastic melancholic voice from each and everyone of you. That's for sure. We promise! So watch out for this! Beside the music Hacienda cares a lot about style and artwork. The album has three different front covers and the three 12" releases are one big picture of a real Hacienda living room (including the real Hacienda girls ).

Everyone who still associates Hacienda with lounge music and expects slow downtempo beats, will love the song " Mexican Dubweiser" for example, but wonder how many uptempo dancetracks can be found on "Third Door Left". Markus : "We have been in a learning process and have changed and developed our style for the better over the past years."
