about

The Matthias Vogt Trio consists of band leader and pianist Matthias Vogt (Motorcitysoul), bass player Andreas Manns and drummer Volker Schmidt – all three founding members of [re:jazz]. After the 2006 debut album “Changing Colors” they present their brand new longplayer “Coming Up For Air” on INFRACom!. The album features guest appearances by Liza da Costa and Jutta Gückel. Incl. a cover version of Talk Talk’s “Such A Shame”.

“So refreshing to hear a deeply accomplished jazz LP full of uplifting and sensitive music played by proper musicians. loving this.” (Jamie Odell aka Jimpster)

“I’m a big fan of the “trio” concept, if there’s a true interaction with the musicians. On this one it works perfectly; my highlights are “The Fith Day” and “Coming Up For Air” which is an interesting mix of indie and jazz. This album is going to be one of my favourites for this winter.” (Ian Pooley)
